Thank you David

So many years ago, I still feel great pride in having known you. Our dads Marines and friends, my grandparents your neighbors and dear friends. Semper Fi brother, will see you across the river one day. Sean McKeon

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Great uncle great veteran

Dear uncle,
you are remembered for your sacrifice and I have learned much about you from my grandmother and your sister,
dale. I may not have gotten the chance to meet you, but that does not mean I will forget you.

Family Friend

Think about you often, David, and our families. Took my mom to visit the grave site where you, your mom and dad and my grandparents (George and Claudia Smith mom's mom and dad) are all laid to rest in Neptune, NJ. Bitter sweet for her and me, but glad we went. I have quite a few Marine buddies and often wonder if you and my marine dad have gotten together again in heaven? Remember when I was real young you two and your dad Walter Sr. having a beer at grandma's house and talking Marine...all so strong and handsome and my heroes. Always will be. Semper Fi. One day we'll all be together again. Sean McKeon
