46 Years

On January 25, 2016 Sixteen thousand eight hundred and one (16801) days since Roy C Beasley took his last breath and died in Viet Nam while on combat patrol. He had earned the CIB (Combat Infantry Badge) for coming under enemy fire, was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received, the Bronze Star Medal and the Silver Star Medal (Which is the third highest medal before the Army Cross Medal and the Medal of Honor). It has been 46 years since he has left us and I think of him often and miss him dearly. His grave site is located at York Free Chapel Cemetery. I think it is the middle drive almost to the back and on the left side a,bout 6 to 8 plots in. Take a moment to thank Roy and the other 58,479 that gave their all for our freedom. YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Roy Claude Beasley, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

I'll never forget you

My dad, Marcos Peraza, fought beside you in Vietnam. He said you were by his side throughout it all and his closest friend. We visited the wall and I was able to touch your name. My dad said he carried you when you died to the airplane. Thank you for giving your life for your country. You will be someone I will never forget and I will pass on your story to my kids and theirs.
