MIA Bracelet from 1971

When I was in college at the University of Tampa in FL in 1971,I received an MIA bracelet with the inscription Capt. Marvin Lindsey 6-29-65. I've kept it with me all these years and always wondered about him and if he was ever found. I came across the bracelet again today and, thanks to an internet search, I can finally put a face to his name. Thank you for your service Col. Lindsey. I'm sorry you have not been found. My dad was also a Col. in the Air Force and I thank you deeply for your service and for your sacrifice. May God bless you and your family always.

Veteran's Day

I just wanted to let you know that I will have the honor of reading your loved one's name in Washington DC this year on Veteran's Day at the official Veteran's Day Ceremony of The Reading of the Names. As long as we continue to speak their names out loud, they will never be forgotten.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear Colonel Marvin Nelson Lindsey, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Birthday

Today, I decided to wear my bracelet, which I still do a lot. When I put it on, it felt as if his birthday may be around this time. It was an odd feeling as the idea just "popped into my head" as I put it on. The new bracelets do not have any birthdates upon them. Imagine my surprise upon checking my emails that someone had added a post today, and I came to the site to read it, and in doing so, I see that tomorrow is his birthday! Wow. So, Happy Birthday, Colonel !!
