Always a smile

Bobbie, you were hero and someone I looked up to. Even though we only saw each other during the summers, I looked forward to always seeing you. You weren’t afraid of anything in the backwoods. You once saved me from stepping on a coral snake. You teased snapping turtles on the Trinity River. I admired you. I don’t as starting my 2nd year of college, Aug 25, 1971. A few days later I found out you had been killed. I cried. Bless you, Bobbie. I went to the Army in May 1972.

honoring you...

Remember to save for them a place inside of you, and save one backward glance when you are leaving, for the places they can no longer go...
