Where's Bob's Medal of Honor?

I was a senior in high school in 1967, the year of this song, Time Has Come Today. My classmate draftee Ranger Robert Philip Levin, Palm Springs, was KIA on long range patrol Feb. 1969, receiving an immediate posthumous Silver Star award for essentially saving his entire already wounded platoon by his self sacrificial charge against an enemy assault, which stopped it and allowed his brothers to repel further attempts to overrun them and were all saved. Bobby should have received and still does deserve an upgrade to the Medal of honor, imho.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 Robert Levin, Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy Spring! It is Holy Week and Passover is also this week. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

undeliverable email to Tim Peay, who served with Bob.....

Hi Tim,

We remember Bob, too.....

and honor and miss him greatly, as well...

and will not forget him!!!

We know he went for all of us who are now getting ready to enjoy our 40th class reunion...

As I'm sure you know already, Bob was a gentle man and a gentleman....

He loved the Impressions and dancing to the music....

I remember him in my mind's eye right now smiling, dancing, and singing,

"If you just put your hand in mine, we're gonna leave all our troubles behind....
we're gonna walk and don't look back..."

Hope we can soon add his handsome face....

so all will see what kind of man was so unfortunately lost to us way too soon.

your words about him are so true and beautiful...

thank you, Tim

....for everything.
