Randy was a proud Marine, and died loved by all that knew him.
Randy (as he was known by) volunteered to go to Vietnam with less than 8 months to serve on his 4 years of service with the United Staes Marines. He was a proud soldier, and anxious to serve his country. One of the last things he said to me was the fact he wasn't sure if it came down to being killed or killing another person if he would be able to do it. He was killed on his first mission out, 2 days after his arrival in Vietnam. He left his home on Easter Sunday, April 14, 1968 was killed on Mother's day May 12, 1968, 4 weeks to the day that he left for California, and was buried May 26, 1968, 6 weeks to the day that he left. He was loved by all that knew him.
