Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Harold George Beane Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

My Hero Cousin

I'm sad to say that I never had the chance to know Junior. I was very little when he died in Vietnam. I've heard that he volunteered to go on a mission that he was told he most likely wouldn't come back from rescuing fellow soldiers who were trapped by the enemy. And even though he was unable to rescue the soldiers himself, he was able to hold the enemy back long enough so that others could rescue his comrades. My cousin gave his life for those men and to me he is a hero. When times get tough in my own life I think of Junior and say to myself, "you can make it Tina". Thank you Junior for being my hero! Your cousin, Tina ? I would love to hear from anyone that may have known him in Vietnam.
