My childhood friend
Bob and I grew up two houses away from each other in a small Ct town. We went to school together, played baseball, and double dated in high school. Bob’s nickname was Spider but I’m not sure why. He was a happy go lucky kid who loved Stan Musial and was engaged to a girl who lived down the street from us.
He was in Vietnam less than two months when he was killed on May 5, 1968 -the day before I left to go over.
I’ll never forget that call home and learning he was gone. I cried but tried to be brave.
He’s been in my thoughts nearly every day for over 54 years.

Thank You
Dear Sgt Robert Leska, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy Spring! For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
