You and Me- to Bill
You and Me- to Bill
As we grew up and played ball
We were in our zone- we had it all
We laughed- cried- pretended to sing
Because in our minds- we were the King
Then after school we went our own way
Mine to a job and yours to play
We had our own agenda
But someday we would be
Brothers in the Army- you and me
I was to be a corpsman in Ft. Carson
You went to Nam with the infantry
Our paths never crossed
Our lives never met
You and me
I came home- not much worse for wear
They brought you home- my heart would tear
In a casket- never to be seen
Some not believing- cause the lid was not open
Then in 1999, on a trip to DC
As I walked among our brothers names
Our past life flashed in front of me
I didn¡¦t believe- till I seen
Your name on the Wall
And then I remembered- you and me.
