MIA bracelet

When our soldiers were coming home from Vietnam, I was a junior in college. My brother served in Vietnam also, so I my heart was with our soldiers. My three roommates and I ordered bracelets to wear and we would check the newspapers often to check to see if the name on the bracelet appeared in the newspaper as one who had come home. I prayed for Captain Douglas LeFever and his family. While in college, I received a degree in elementary education. Each year when we would celebrate Veterans Day I would take the bracelet and share with my students the sacrifice of Capt. LeFevers and his great sacrifice.

Thank You

Dear Major Douglas Lefever, Thank you for your service as a Tactical Fighter Pilot. You are still MIA. Please come home. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Happy Spring! For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Be at peace with the angels.

I will always remember.

I wore your bracelet as a teenager for years. Saved it for so many years. It’s since lost in the many moves and life changes. I’m now 61 and last year was in Washington DC and visited the memorial. Think of this man often and his family.
