Hero
I remember getting in a chopper to help a recon unit that was ambushed and a rescue chopper was shot down. Bill Lee sat in chopper across from me and gave me the thumbs up sign. We landed and set up a perimeter, nightfall came quickly. Bill was a radioman for the company. He went down a trail with Lt Johnston and a squad to find any survivors. They came under heavy enemy fire and Bill Lee was hit and died instantly The next morning we moved down to the chopper and only found one survivor. Bill was a brave young man, i will never forget his courage. RIP Bill. NEVER FORGET OUR FALLEN HEROES

honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.
