We still remember you

I went to the University of Virginia with Bill and was in the same fraternity there. His nickname was "Maf" as in mafia, I think because of his swarthy complection. He was more quiet than not and had a great and unique sense of humor. I never heard him say a bad thing about anyone and he was well liked by everyone that knew him, He was from Indian Springs or had gone to high school there. I do not believe the first picture [in color] shown on this website is correct. Bill had dark hair and dark brown or black eyes as in the second picture which is correct. He was in the same fraternity as Henry L Warner Lt. U.S Army who died of wounds received in action Viet Nam in 1968.

A simple tribute

I remember the Lt. as a fine gentleman and a good soldier. Lt. Leatherwood was killed in a helicopter crash at Phu Bai (Thua Thien Province).
