Thank You
Dear Sp4 Darrell Naylor, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It’s a New Year, but not necessarily better. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

"It Took Heroes"
Sp4 Naylor is recalled in Chaplain Claude Newby's book "It Took Heroes". Chaplain Newby describes an incident in which Sp4 Naylor was wounded by a booby trap and later triaged at the 15th Medical Battalion Clearing Company. Chaplain Newby describes his meeting with Sp4 Naylor on pp. 143-44... he was under the impresson that Sp4 Naylor's wound was mortal and that he did not survive. Thank you for your service Sp4 Naylor... your legacy of survival despite the odds, and the legacy of love left by you parents, will stand forever in hallowed fields of our nation's memory. Thank you for your service, sir.
