Remembering An American Hero

Dear 2LT Robert Allen Layton Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Best Friend and Role Model

I haven't lived a day without thinking of Bobbie. Many of our fellow Delt brothers have expressed many of my thoughts...

I now have 2 grandsons, and I always remember Bobbie and portray him to them as a role model -- fun, focused, faithful, fearless. He always had my back. I pray that our boys will develop into men like him. He will always be present in my mind and spirit. Amen

Roomie

Bob was my roommate at the U.of D.. Great sense of humor and a real friend. I still miss his laugh and warmth, even this late in my own life.
