Thank You

Dear PFC John Laskey, Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Field Artillery Basic. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

A Good Man

He came home from Vietnam on leave in 1966. His brother and my brother were good friends and lived right next to each other in a duplex in Tulsa, Ok. I met him for the first & last time. He was here about a week. In 1966 I was 10 years old and he and we got along great, he would spend time with me each day. I grew very fond of him, it was like he was my brother. By the time for him to leave and go back, I did not want to see him go. He said he would return and we would have more time. About a week we later we were informed that he had covered a grenade and he did not make it. John B Laskey was just that kind of guy and I will never forget him.

I will always remember your wonderful smile. I am sorry for not being at your side when you gave your life for our country. I will see you again when my name is called up there. I loved you my brother.
