Thank You
Dear Sp4 Ernest Lasher, Thank you for your service as a Field Artillery Surveyor. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Ground Casualty
FSB South I, two miles from the Cambodian border in Tay Ninh Province, RVN, was a specially-designed fire support base housing twenty-four 155mm artillery tubes to provide support for nearby Allied operations into Cambodia. The base was occupied by elements of the 11th Armored Cavalry. On the night of May 3-4, 1970, FSB South I was assaulted by a hostile force. Three troopers were killed in the attack. They included SGT Ray F. Evans, PFC Leon Garnett Jr., and SP4 Ernest R. Lasher Jr. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
