As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

My name is Sarah and I am a senior at Gridley High School in Gridley Illinois. I am doing an assigment for one of my classes, posting remembrances for those that lost their lives in the Vietnam War. As I sit and wonder what it must of been like for you to set aside you family and friends to defend your country, I wonder if I would be able to do it. I want to thank you for your courage and your bravery in protecting our country. You are a role model for the young men and women who are now performing the same tasks as you once did.
