Not Forgotten

I am going with my father to Washington this weekend. He is participating in the Honor Flight. When I asked him if there are any names he wanted to find on the Vietnam Memorial Wall, he immediately said Garfield Langhorn. They went to school and served together. We will honor him, his service and sacrifice.

My cousin, Never Forgotten

I never had the chance to meet my big cousin but I am so honored that you are my cousin. So selfless and heroic, my son dressed up as you for Black History Month for school. I will make sure that the younger generations in the family will know who you are and remember you! Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. You are truly loved! -Alisha

An honor

Recently I spoke with young David and his grandmother in the parking lot of the Giant. They informed me of their family member, Garfield Langhorn. David portrayed him for a school project depicting the person he most admired. I have read about Garfield now with the utmost reverence and respect for his life and sacrifice. David and grandmother, thank you for sharing with me and I hope to meet you again at the Giant. Kathy

Thank You

Dear PFC Garfield Langhorn, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman, and for receiving the MEDAL OF HONOR. I researched you on your 51st anniversary, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. For many of us, we have begun Lent. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
