Thank You

Dear Sgt Herbert Stober, Thank you for your service with the 8th Combat Support Group. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. The 47th anniversary of the last battle of the war just passed. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Thank-You for your Service

My brother and I, Herbie and his brother Jim walked together to grade school every day. We crossed the river in the winter because it was a much shorter walk. One day Jim went through the ice. He froze and could not move so I had to jump into the hole and push him out. Herb and my brother Ray helped pull him out. We then had to walk the half mile home to tell our mother what happened. She was not happy as she had told us to never cross the river.

Herb was a young kid at the time and we never gave him the credit he deserved. Thanks for what you did from a fellow vet.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT Herbert J Stober, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
