Gone Not Forgotten
Learned about SP4 Brown's story when I read about COL Paris Davis and his recent MOH upgrade for combat actions in 1965.
Photo below is a rubbing of his name on the Wall here in DC provided by the Vietnam Veterans Foundation.
The last day I served in Iraq, our Battalion Commander for 2-12 Cavalry, LTC Nickolas, told me 'Doc, no words can express my thanks for what you all did to take care of our wounded'.
Medics work so others may live. Those of us serving in the recent past and today try our best to keep up the proud tradition of those before us--great medics & Americans like SP4 Brown. May he rest in eternal peace.
LTC (ret), Debjeet Sarkar, MD, US Army Medical Corps
