I Still Remember You

I was with Bauer on the day he was killed on Operation Tuscaloosa. A book has been written about this day entitled "Operation Tuscaloosa" by John Culbertson. Bauer's name is listed amongst all the Marines that were killed that day. I shall never forget that day. We crossed a river and walked into a horseshoe ambush. The ensuing battle lasted for about 8 hours and 2nd Plt Hotel Company 2nd Bn 5th Marines was pinned down and in close combat for most of this time. Bauer was somewhat of a quiet person but well liked by his fellow Marines. My deepest sympathy is extended to the family. If you would like to contact me please feel free to do so.
