Ground Casualty
SGT Jerry D. Kuney was a multichannel transmission systems operator-maintainer serving with the 510th Signal Company, 73rd Signal Battalion, 29th Signal Group, 1st Signal Brigade. Kuney’s duties included installing, repairing, and operating radio, wire, and communication center multichannel transmissions, security devices, and power generators. Kuney died March 12, 1971, at Cam Ranh Army Airfield in Khanh Hoa Province, RVN, where it was reported he took his own life. He was 28 years old and six months into his second tour of Vietnam.
