Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
Mary Frye – 1932

A Young Life Lost
Dear Charles~ As a 15-year-old sophomore, it is hard for me to believe that someone so young could have given his or her life for our country. It unbelievable what Veterans went through in the war. I have spoken to a few, and they are very vague in their descriptions of the war because of the pain it brings them. I know that it was hard for someone in his or her later twenties to deal with the ideas of war, but I know that it must have been worse for you as a 19-year-old man. I want to thank you for giving your life for the sake of our country. You will always be remembered for the sacrifice you gave for my freedom. Thank you and God Bless. Amber Kamischke
