Remembered

DEAR SPEC 4 BATES,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A FLIGHT QUALIFIED AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE APPRENTICE. IT BUGS ME THAT YOU DIED 4 DAYS AFTER YOUR BIRTHDAY. SIGH. ADVENT IS HERE, AND CHRISTMAS IS APPROACHING. WE ARE THANKFUL FOR YOU. THE NEW YEAR IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, WHICH MAKES IT FAR TOO LONG FOR YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE.. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE SAINTS AND ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE.

Crimson and Clover

The night before that day, you and I hung in the hootch, 2nd slick platoon which we were, eating C rations, talking about home and listening to music... Crimson and Clover... I got grounded the next day due to a "fever of unknown origin" and... you and Bentley took my mission with me in the hospital. You've been in my mind and heart all my life, Brother.

Big brother

I remember strong arms in the lake using me as a beach ball passing me flying through the air to our other brother, Robert Young. I remember your smile and great sense of humor, always pulling off jokes(some unwelcome) on our mom. You are loved and missed greatly.

Remembering you, Carl

You and I went to Northside High School together, Carl. We are putting together a remembrance for our classmates of the Class of 65. As a Vietnam veteran myself, I can't begin to tell you how much I wish you were joining our 50th class reunion.. Your life was cut way too short. We remember you, Carl.

I didn't know carl that well, he flew with 1st plt. I think. but I remember the day he got hit. when his ship landed, we flew over head, but we had to back off, kicking up too much dust.
