Thank You
Dear Col Melvin Killian, Thank you for your service as a Tactical Aircraft Pilot. You were identified in 1985, Welcome home. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Advent, and we are beginning our preparations. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Memorial Day Miracle
I was contacted on Memorial Day by the granddaughter of this Brave Hero. I have sent my POW/MIA bracelet that I wore for years to her. She is named Killian in honor of her grandfather. A circle has been completed. We Never Forget. Thanks for the help this website gave me in searching for this Hero’s Family.

You were my POW/MIA bracelet hero
I was just a little kid, I had no real appreciation for what POW/MIA bracelets stood. But, I knew the name was important, I knew I wore the name of a hero and I have never forgotten the name on my bracelet - Colonel Melvin J Killian.
Thank you sir.
Respectfully,
A kid who never knew you but never forgot you

Nostalgia Trip to Clark AFB, Philippines
I was stationed with Col. Killian at Clark 1961 to 1963 during which time he was Commander of the 509th FIS flying Deuces and I was OIC for the huge bomb dump we had there. I just returned to Clark this summer and found the old 102 alert hanger still there dug out of the ash. Many fond memories rekindled of our time together.RIP Dick Stanland
