Wonderful Classmate
I attended Cedar Bayou Jr High and Robert E Lee High School with Charlie, graduating together in 1964. We both served in Vietnam, unfortunately he did not return, and still miss his smile and friendship to this day. Every Memorial Day when placing American Flags on military graves with American Legion and VFW, I see that he gets his flag and salute.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear CPL Charles Howard Kilgore, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

The Best of us Die Young!
We went to High School together, were drafted together, shipped out to different units together. I made it back but Charlie did not. Killed in the first mounth in Nam, trying to rescue a wounded soldier, he laid down his life for his brother. He deserved more than the Bronze Star. No man was better than this man. Rest in Peace my brother.
