Fifty Five Years
Fifty five years ago today, you were killed in an ambush after encountering a bunker complex in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Your brothers in arms waged a valiant battle for many hours to ensure that they could bring you home. They truly lived by their creed of “No man left behind.” Through the power of social media, I have connected with some of these brave men and have heard the story of that fateful day. I want to thank your Red Warrior brothers for their efforts to allow you to come home so your young wife and infant daughter could lay you to rest. We are grateful for their commitment to you and your family. We regret that we were denied the opportunity to know you personally, but rest assured you are not forgotten. Your grandchildren know as much about you as we can tell them, and I hope you are proud of them as you look on from Heaven.

Memorial Day
You will never be forgotten, Terry. I’ve been trying to find the photo of you used at your funeral. Maybe someone in your family has it to share. It was your Army dress uniform photo. I found your family on Facebook. Was so happy to see them, and know you would be so proud. Your grandson looks so much like you. Thank you for our freedom, Terry.

Fifty-four Years
Today marks 54 years since Terrence Patrick Kilbane was killed in Pleiku. We remember him still, and wish he was here with us to see his grandchildren grow up. Please remember him and all who have made the ultimate sacrifice while in service to our country. I know he is remembered by those who were with him that day. I have spoken to some, and read accounts from others. To his Red Warrior brothers, thank you for your actions on that fateful day. You are in our thoughts as well. I hope Terry’s siblings are well as we wait for them to reach out after all these years.
