do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

My very good friend

We went through training together. After NCOC you got orders to Vietnam and I went to Ranger Training. When I arrived in country I ran into the third of us - Ron Rodrigeuz who served with you right up to the end. He told me how you died trying to save brother soldiers. My heart broke and there's an empty space ever since. Even now 50 years later. Rest peacefully Ray.

Thank You

Dear Sgt Raymond Kiesler, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Advent, and we are beginning our preparations. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Cherished Fiend

We met in basic, trained together through NCOC. I entered Ranger Training and you shipped out. When I landed in country, I encountered Ron Rodriguez who told me you had given your all trying to save your buddies. I didn't sleep that night thinking about the loss of your goodness. Rest easy, Ray.

Raymond Kiesler- Remembered by his fellow students

The school picture for Raymond Kiesler came from his 1965 senior class at the former St George High School in Evanston, Illinois. The Catholic school opened in 1927 and closed its doors in 1969. Thanks for the picture goes to Rob Cummings and the St George High School Alumni Association.
