My High School Friend

I just learned of Forrest's death in May of this year. It broke my heart. I imagined that he had married and lived a good life. We were friends in high school in San Antonio. He was kind, considerate, and loving. I truly missed him when he moved to Midland. I wish that I had told him how much I cared for him and often wonder if I could have convinced him to stay in San Antonio and not join the Marines. As it turns out, I live just a few blocks from Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery and visit his grave at least once per week. I make sure that he always has flowers at his grave. I truly miss you, buddy.
