I have a MIA bracelet that I have had for several years. It is enscripted 1Lt John Kennedy 08-16-71. Would your family like it? I would be more than happy to send it to you.

Response to PAMELA GRIFFITH from John Kennedy's family

PAMELA-Thank you so much for your posting! I am sorry I didn't see this sooner. My name is Tamara and my husband, Dan, is John's brother. We named our 4thchild after Jack (that is what his family called him). It meant so much to Dan's mother, Sally, when his remains were returned and identified. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. We would love to see the pictures of your class trip and the memorial they did for him.

I remember

I wore John's MIA bracelet as a young girl. I am a teacher now, and taking 200 eighth graders to Washington, DC again. My homeroom has chosen to make a memorial to John. We will be leaving bracelets at the Vietnam Wall in his honor, for people to take. I would love to share pictures with his family. We will be there the week of March 16th.

I carry you with me

To all those who wear his name around your wrist, "Thank you". I am is cousin and will be reading his name at the Navy Ball for the 27th and last time, as the Navy is forcing me to retire. It is with great sorrow I will not be able to continue this tradition for our family as the last one in our family still on active duty. I hope that one day someone will carry on the tradition.

For 1Lt. John W. Kennedy

I still have two of my silver bracelets I got when I was in high school. My boyfriend (at the time) and I each worn one in remembrance of Lt. John Kennedy for many years. I am 61 years old now and still have both of them. Thank you Lt. Kennedy for your service to your country and God Bless your family. You are not forgotten.
