I have a POW Bracelet I'd like the family to have.
Hello John W. Kennedy family, when I was a 12yr old child in Pittsburgh PA, 1971, my Mother contributed to a POW fund and received bracelets for we 3 children. I'm not sure when I took it off, because I wore it around the clock--it never came off for at least a year, as the wear will indicate. We checked the database back then, but John was just listed as MIA. Recently, both my parents passed, and while getting the estate in order, I found mine. My Mother saved it. If you would like it, please contact me at: [email protected]
I hope my mentioning this does not hurt you in any way. That certainly is not my intention. I would like to see one of John's family members have this period specific memorial of him.
Sincerely, and in peace,
Lem Mason
Louisville, Ky

John W. Kennedy
I wore a bracelet for Capt. Kennedy as a young college student, and as I was organizing my pictures to give to my children, I came across this picture of him. The back read: 1 LT John William Kennedy, USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training, Selma, Ala (Craig AF Base), dated Oct 1969-Oct 1970. I discovered the VVMF website and was a able to learn about his life and service. To his mom and brother, and all who knew him personally, I send my heartfelt condolences and hope that having been able to put him to rest in Arlington Cemetery has brought you some comfort.

Our parallel paths had to of crossed and never knew it.
