In honor of your dedication and sacrifice to our Country, our Corps, and our CAP unit, on 8 August 2024 the CAP Unit Veterans Association will have a brick engraved with your name installed along the walkway of the National Museum of the Marine Corps, Quantico, Virginia, at the Dedication of the Combined Action Platoon Monument.

What a fine Sgt he was reminded me of Steve McQueen..We went on on some good 5 men killer teams..had some beers with him on 1 day r&r...he told me he felt they (VC) were out to get him at 2/9... sorry to hear how he died..the Gunny cried....

Sergeant Mahlon Lewis Kelley was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V), for his exemplary gallantry in action. He served as an ANTITANK ASSAULTMAN and was assigned to CAP 2-7-9, CACO 2-7, 2ND CAG, COMBINED ACTION.
