Bracelet in the ashes

I wore Lt. Col. Kahler's in college and just assumed it was burned in my home fire in 1981. Today as I sifted through the ashes of home and barns in Butte County, California ( the Camp Fire Nov. 8th 2018) here was his name staring up at me. Only a few weeks ago a friend and I were mentioning our past MIA/POW bracelets and wondered if their fate had been resolved. I was so hoping his remains or some kind of news had been shared with his family in all these years. I am proud to once again wear his bracelet and hope one day the family will know what happened.

Bracelet

Since 1970 or so I have had a POW bracelet with Lt Col Harold Kathleen engraved on it. I was a young girl st that time and never knew the gentleman, but ordered a bracelet with a Vietnam Veteran’s name in it that was a POW and received his. I prayed for him and his family off and on for years. If anyone knows of anyone related to him, please contact me in [email protected]. My own brother was a Vietnam Veteran and did two tours of duty, front line. We are blessed to have him still with us. Thank you and God Bless all those who serve in our military. A thankful citizen, Debi Case

Lt Col Harold Kahler

I was in high school during the waning years of the Vietnam war when I received the MIA bracelet with the name, Lt. Col. Harold Kahler. I wore that bracelet until it was worn out. My prayers were with him and his family then, and I pray now that his family will have renewed strength in knowing that he is still remembered.

Bracelet memories

Lt. Col. (as he was then) has been in my thoughts almost daily since I received an MIA bracelet with his name in 1969. I wore it daily for years until it started cracking. Since then it's been with my most treasured jewelry. I searched for information pre-internet, and just recently tried again. I want his family to know that he is remembered and honored by an Army Brat whose father and many friends were also in that war.

1960's "Lost in Action" bracelet

By the Grace of God, my brother survived the front lines of Vietnam 1965-66. I still wear Lt. Col. H. Kahler's - Lost in Action- Remembrance bracelet and still pray for his family.
Would gladly send it to family if requested.
Blessings to all the Veteran's for their Service.
