REMEMBRANCES

LEFT FOR GEORGE HENRY JOURDENAIS
POSTED ON 6.26.2008

If I should die...remembrances for MAJ. George Henry JOURDENAIS, USAF...who died for all of us!!!!!!

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Not Forgotten

George Henry Jourdenais was a major in the U.S. Air Force, and was declared M.I.A. on 1 April 1967 and was declared K.I.A. on 4 May 1973. He was piloting when his F-4C crashed on 1 April 1967 and he and his one man crew was declared missing. He flew F-105's in Bittburg, Germany, and his call sign on the day he died was Sharkbait 51. He was the father of two sons and was married to his wife Mary. he will never be forgotten.

Hi Dad

Hi, Dad...

I am doing well and I still miss you. You'll be pleased to know that I named my son after you. I think about you every day.

For all those that read this, I have posted a picture of George. He loved what he did and he loved his family.

Not Forgotten

I have not forgotten you. I chair the Adoption Committee for The National League of Families of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action in Southeast Asia. We will always remember the 1,889 Americans still unaccounted for in Southeast Asia and the thousands of others that lost their lives. We will not stop our efforts until all of you are home where you belong.

We need to reach the next generation so that they will carry on when our generation is no longer able. To do so, we are attempting to locate photographs of all the missing. If you are reading this remembrance and have a photo and/or memory of this missing American that you would like to share for our project, please contact me at:
