Thank you for you service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from your friend Mike Lawson is especially poignant. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us...

Not forgotten

Don was a good friend to me, and I thank you for honoring his memory. From the time we were in elementary school, he always wanted to be a Marine, and he realized his dream. He was a decent, deeply religious kid who loved his country, and possessed a strong sense of duty and honor. I am saddened so much when i think about all of the years that he didn't get to have, of the love that he had to give, the family that he could have had. Then, I think of 58'000 others who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam, and the thousands more before and since. It's overwhelming. I'm glad that someone still remembers him, and all of the rest.

DEAR PFC BARROWS,
I HOPE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS YOU WILL PUT YOUR PHOTO HERE BECAUSE THIS WALL OF FACES NEEDS YOUR FACE. THANKS FOR BEING A GRUNT. SEMPER FI. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE. ADVENT IS HERE, AND CHRISTMAS IS APPROACHING. WE ARE THANKFUL FOR YOU. THE NEW YEAR IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, WHICH MAKES IT FAR TOO LONG FOR YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. GOD BLESS YOU. Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Irving Donald Barrows, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
