Teamate

I went to Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon with Mike. Among other activities, we played college football together. I was the center, Mike was the 2nd team quarterback.....but he wasn't a second rate quarterback by any means. We had two good quarterbacks that year. Whenever Mike entered the foray, which was often,he gave us the lift we needed with his confidence, his winning attitude and leadership ability...The day I heard about his death is a benchmark day for me. He was the first close friend that died in Viet Nam. At the time of his death I was in the USN Hostital Corps Basic School, San Diego, CA. During my time in the Navy I knew many more that died or were seriously maimed in that action. I will never forget Mike's spirit and his friendship...Thanks Mike for the memories. Brian E.Petersen-1817 Linwood St. Eugene,OR. I would like to know more about Mike in Army and how was killed.
