Remembering An American Hero

Dear Colonel Louis Farr Jones, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Remembering

My first, and only, bracelet has Col. Jones' name on it. It was one of the first, I think, and I acquired it before I graduated in the spring of '70. I lost my cousin in Viet Nam mid-1967, and a half brother sometime after that. I cherish the bracelet and the memory of these brave men. Now, some 30+ years later, my own son prepares to go to war in the Middle East as a soldier. God Bless them all.

I will never forget.

To the family of Louis F. Jones. I have been wearing his POW bracelet almost every day for over 10 years. Just wearing it gives me strength.
