Ground Casualty
PFC Jimmie L. Jones was an Indirect Fire Infantryman serving with C Company, 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division. On May 30, 1967, PFC Jones was on patrol with his unit in Pleiku Province, RVN, when they were required to cross a river. While helping another individual up a bank, his weapon accidently discharged. Jones was fatally wounded in the incident. He was posthumously promoted to Corporal. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
