Thank You

Dear WO Charles Jones, Thank you for your service as an Assistant Engineer. Today is the 51st anniversary of the start of your tour, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Tomorrow is actually Columbus Day. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

My Brother

He was great in all of the sports that he played one of the first around the area that dunked a basketball in the school games, did great job of pitching baseball and loved to play football very fast for his size then. Everyone in this little town of Louisa, KY knew and liked him and all he wanted to do was play pro sports or be in the ARMY. Well he was drafted and spent some 9 years I think in the service, he love the boats and helicopters that is all that he talked about. My parents and I visited him in Richmond, VA at this time they were building the USS Kennedy Aircraft Carrier I got to see that it was I the 60’s I think around 1966. When he graduated from High School got a job at a local market and then got work at ARMCO STEEL Mill then into the ARMY he was drafted. Worked hard to be a Warren Officer and was very proud when he had his uniform on. I could at times when he was overseas communicate with him over the Military Dept of Affairs and with Military Affiliated Radio Service VIA Amateur Radio with my Ham Radio Station. I use to relay messages to them all of the time to and from the US. He was married and had one girl and was very happy family.

I loved my brother Charles and was always wanting to be like him, I am very proud of him in that all he has done and in serving our country as did my other brother William “Bill” Jones has done to.
