a letter to Eva Jones, Brents mother, from Brents friend about the day he was killed

I would love to submit this letter but I am just a second cousin to Brent and think someone closer should submit it if they think it appropriate. I would be glad to send a copy to them to approve. Though I didn't know Brent I always find his name at the actual wall or traveling reproductions. Thank You Brent and all the brave soldiers for their service.

Remembering You My Father

This is the first time I have seen this photo of you father. Your so very handsome and Im proud of you. I was so small when I lost you, I wish I could remember the last time you held me but I cant. I've had dreams of you and your always standing next to me and Im telling everyone, "This is my Dad!!" and you always make me feel safe during those dreams. I know your watching over me and I know I will see you one day. I also have your school jacket that grandma gave me and when I put it on, I reached into the pockets and there was little bits of tobacco embedded into the seams. It made me feel close to you. Funny huh? But its all I have. I just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you this Memorial Day and everyday. I love you, your daughter, Becky

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Brent R Jones, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
