For Joanne R. Barr
I am a Viet Nam Veteran. Years ago in Ohio, a friend found an ID card, some military papers regarding Robert H Barr and 2 photographs. He recently gave them to me and asked if I could return them to the family. This post is the only clue that I have found. The ID card is for a young girl (`5 yrs) Joanne R. Barr. Provide an address and I will send them to you.

Dad
I was only a year old when my father was killed. It was much harder on my four brothers and sister and of course my beautiful mother and his mother.
I so wish that I could remember my dad. He was a wonderful family man as well as a fabulous pilot.
My mother tells me that he died doing what he loved. Flying

My Grandfather
We are offspring of heroes. We are the generation that derived from heroes. We remember the sacrifices that they made to secure our liberties. Here's to you, a man I will never meet. A story never to be told. A life to remember. A hero lost. I wish I knew you, to trade stories over a cold drink. I will always hear stories of your life. Of your heroism. I love you grandfather. Rest now for your grandsons hold the line and keep your family safe at night. To my grandfather LT COL Robert Barr an American Hero.

To my great grandpa Who I never got to meet
I love family, I always will, even when I part. Around May of 2014 I visited Washington DC. I got to see his name on the wall. I actually got to touch it and think about him. To be honest that is mostly why I wanted to go to Washington, To see my grandpas name made me realize, This country is great, but only because of the sacrifices made. Me going there, made me want to serve as well. When I am old enough I'd like to follow my grandpa, three cousins and mom. I will serve proudly!
