THE WALL OF FACES

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just five days after your 19th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Dear PFC James Jessman, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. I researched you on your 70th birthday, happy birthday. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It's the end of summer. The time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I was at Brookside cemetery today, 20180706. I couldn't help but notice as I paid respect to another dear friend, the Marine Corps flag drifting in wind by your resting place.

As a fellow Marine, I was instantly immersed with emotions, and more so when I realized your life was lost in the Viet Nam war. How young, but brave, you were to answer to the call of our country and to paid the ultimate sacrifice.

I write this to honor you and your life, and to also to show appreciation, as a fellow Marine. You will be forgotten brother.

Private First Class James Henry Jessman, Served with Company F, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Third Marine Amphibious Force.

I am from Watertown, Jimmys hometown. Although I was only 11 when he was killed , I distinctively remember everything about it. He is buried in the same cemetery as my parents and I give him a salute when I visit.
