YOU ARE ONE OF THE FINEST OF OUR GRADUATION CLASS IN 1966

Jim Jerson, as we called him at Martin Behrman High School, in the New Orleans community called Algiers, i.e. the westbank of the Mississippi River, in the city. I knew Jim in high school and thought the world of him. Keep watch over us, Jim. You are remembered on the Algiers war dead obelisk in McDonough Park, in Old Algiers, just blocks from our alma mater.

Jim was my neighbor...

My mom and his mom were best friends, and he used to babysit my brothers and I when we were young. I was born in 1955. Jim was an Eagle Scout, and someone we always looked up to. I hope he did not die in vain; considering what we see happening In the world, today. I am 63, now. Rest In Peace, Jim. You were an awesome man, and a patriot. May the military draft never be instituted again. I think Jim would have signed up,
anyway.. God bless the USA, and James Ray Jerson.
