Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

You Will Always Be Remembered

My name is Phoenix Marr and I am a senior at Gridley High School in Gridley, Illinois. My history teacher challenged all of his students to write remembrances for those men and women who lost their lives while putting forth all of their effort for this country. Now is the time to look back and realize how much each one of these veterans did for us. I did not know Carter personally, but I can only imagine the courage and strength that he had while proudly representing our country. You will always be remembered! Thank you for everything you did! It is greatly appreciated! God Bless.
