35 Years ago was yesterday.
My high school friend,Rich Barnes took his idealism and his fondness for freedom, and went to fight a war that could not be won. He lost his life 35 years ago this SUNDAY coming. We are left behind with the memories of a young man dedicated to making the world free at any cost. Here we are ,the world is still unsettled, Vietnam is still communist, the VC are still in power, we have a new president with new ideals and ideas how to make the world free and now after all these years we have a Black Granite Wall as a reminder that over 58,000 idealists didn't make much of a difference except now we have emptier lives without them. God, will we ever learn? We who knew Rich, loved him and his memory will never die and neither will his ideals. That is why this is our Wall. This is our ideal reminder of to what extent humans will go to prove a point. So long rich and all you idealists looking over the embattlements of a better place. Forever your friend,
