Dear Jimmie Ray Isbell,
My name is Laura and I'm a 10th grader from Oregon. Recently I had the opportunity to visit Washington D.C and New York on a class trip and surround myself with different monuments and memorials remembering those who have served our country whether it be as a leader or a war veteran. But more importantly, I was able to visit the Vietnam War Memorial on March 29 and see the thousands of names that appeared on the wall before me. It was very surreal, being able to look at all these names and think that they died so that future generations could lead better lives and with that I'd like to say thank you. Thank you for all you've done, thank you for believing in our country and fighting till the very end.
"Sadly missed along life's way, quietly remembered every day... No longer in our lives to share, but in our hearts, your always there." - Unknown

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 Jimmie Ray Isbell, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
