My 2nd Visit To You

I went into DC on a work road tip back in 2/94 on my way back North to MA. Drove by sites at 10:20 p.m. Had The city to myself. Drove Right up to The Lincoln Memorial and went up the stairs to view it. Came down and saw the Vietnam Memorial was near by. Walked over and saw they had books with names. Looked under the last name Hurley as that is my last name. I found your name. My name as well is Timothy so I had to find you. I was fortunate to have done so. I heard that people did "rubbings" of names so I went back to the van and found an invoice from a purchase and a pencil and went back and did the rubbing. The date I did this was 2-23-94. I was just in DC again for the first time since that visit on 5-7-23. 29 years later and I visited you again along with my wife. I met her 4 months prior to my first visit and showed her the rub when I returned in 94. This time I took a photo and showed her your name in person. Thank you for your service and sacrifice and will always visit you as you've got a place in my heart. I was 7 months old when you passed.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Timothy Lawrence Hurley, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
