Thank You

Dear PFC Michael Hughes, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. I researched you on your 50th anniversary, sad. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Memorial Day is Everyday

Michael was a friend to us all. He will always be missed. No matter how much time passes, it will always matter.

Three others were killed in the same firefight - they stood together: John V Morascini, David C Tobie, and Michael J Troyan Jr., May they rest in peace.

The bell of freedom still rings, thanks to men like these, and all who serve, not only in the military but also the families and friends of these men, and the civilians who are supportive of our military -- that too is service.

Thanks to all who cherish the freedoms that our constitution is designed to protect. In this, America is Unique.

Regards to all,
Bill (former PFC, 82nd Airborne)

He is my uncle

If any of you knew him please reach out to me. [email protected] I would like to know more of him, I know that he refused med school and the chance to flee the country. He decided to stand up for what he believed to be right and serve his country. My father (his brother) recently passed away and his whole family is very closed lip with anything that has to do with him (witch I can understand). Thank you all for your service.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Michael Donald Hughes, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
