Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Donald Edward Howell, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Your Memory Still Lives On

I never got to meet you, and the only knowledge I do know is what little stories I've heard through family or through my own research. What I do know is I am proud to be related to a hero. I want to thank you for risking your life to serve our country and your family. I traveled all the way to D.C. just to find your name on the Veterans Memorial wall, and when I finally did, I felt honored to have a member of my family be a part of history and to be honored in such a way. I will forever be grateful and proud of you and the sacrifices you made. Your memory still lives on Uncle Donnie, and it always will. Love You
