Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 Luther Harris Howard, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

James' Daughter
James' mother and father, Evamae & Luther Harris, raised me and to my knowledge of he being my father... I was born Nov 1966 and never met him. All we know is that he was MIA after swimming and ma received a flag. She has since passed many years ago along with her husband. I have no photos of him, but do remember the one graduation photo that she kept. I know she waited she waited all of her life for him to return and though there were rumors of another being my real father )in my heart he is my father because that is what I was told)... so, I waited also. I found this and wanted to say thank you all for leaving your posts. I know that his mother would be very grateful that so many people still care not to forget about him. I followed in his footsteps in the army and retired in 2009. God Bless you all.
